Aya graduated from University of Cambridge with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music in 2001. She was introduced to Pilates after severe repetitive strain injury of the shoulder from violin performances, and was inspired to become a qualified instructor after successful treatment. Following her apprenticeship with Alan Herdman, a pioneer of Pilates in the UK, Aya has developed her own technique and taught machine-based Pilates to over 1000 people in the past 8 years. She takes regular referrals from GPs, physiotherapists and osteopaths for back and shoulder problems, as well as post-surgical rehabilitation. Tailored programmes are constructed for each client to enable to help regain lost function, strength and confidence.
She is also renowned for her intensive core muscle training: clients will be challenged with a series of exercises aiming for efficient development of a strong and well-maintained body.
